About me

I’m a food-loving journalist working and living in South London. I love travelling, reading, cooking, eating and going to restaurants. I love old boozers but cannot abide trendy bars. While my loathing of loud music in pubs and restaurants tells me I’m reaching middle age, my enduring love of loud music at home reassures me that I’m raging against its onset. I have a cat who is far too outspoken for my liking, and a wife who cooks far, far better than me – curse her. I’m editor of Caterer and Hotelkeeper magazine, a trade mag for chefs, restaurateurs and hoteliers, which means I am lucky enough to have sampled some of the country’s leading restaurants and hotels, and to have met many of our greatest chefs. One day, I’ll write the best-selling series of children’s books I’ve been plotting out in my mind for two decades and retire to  the Maldives. And lose a bit of weight.
